Bespoke Garden Office with Vaulted Ceiling & Mezzanine – King’s Somborne

Situated in King’s Somborne, Hampshire, this bespoke 6m x 4m garden office was designed and built to create a unique working space, combining contemporary styling with traditional architectural features.

One of the standout features of this project is the dual-pitched roof, creating an impressive vaulted ceiling with exposed timber beams running through the room. The additional height allowed us to incorporate a mezzanine floor, providing extra usable space while maintaining an open, spacious feel throughout the main office.

To complement the design, we manufactured a bespoke timber ladder, providing access to the mezzanine area. The exposed beams, white mezzanine balustrade and carefully selected interior finishes give the room its own individual character.

Externally, the garden room features warm-toned thermally modified timber cladding to the two main elevations, complemented by contrasting dark metal cladding to the rear. The pitched roof is finished with dark fascia details, creating a striking contemporary appearance.

Large bifold doors open directly onto a bespoke decking area, connecting the office with the garden. An upgraded feature window was also incorporated into the side elevation, providing additional natural light and uninterrupted views across the garden.

Internally, the room benefits from air conditioning for year-round comfort, alongside independently controlled lighting zones, allowing different areas to be illuminated as required. The combination of natural timber beams, soft green walls and wood-effect flooring creates a welcoming and practical working environment. This project demonstrates how a fully bespoke garden room can offer far more than a conventional home office, combining thoughtful design, quality materials and skilled craftsmanship to create a truly individual space.
